A small bump under the skin after a shot?

I have given puppies and dogs their shots myself many times, this time I don't think the shot got all the way under the skin when I injected it, and a small bump rose up. Is this an issue at all? Thank you
Answers:
it will go away
It's normal for any mamal to get bruises after a shot, but I suggest seeing a vet before doing anything else. And if it's bad I think u should let a professional do the shots
It's not unusual for the skin to lump sometimes after giving a dog a shot. Keep an eye on the site, though, and take the dog to the vet if the body hasn't absorbed the injection fluid within a few days, or if the dog shows any signs of fever or disorientation.
not at all, the vet always tells me that you may see a bump after a shot.
My dog got a huge lump and had some diarrhea after the rabies...sje also got very sick...the vet said she had a reaction to it and that she would be fine but extra measures would be taken next time.
Don't worry about it, it will go away
Vaccine reaction...moniter it..Should go away.

It's not really a good idea to vaccinate puppies yourself for their first shots especially. Vaccine reactions can be fatal...and each dog reacts differently.

That's why they have ...veterinarians.

Veterinary medicine is coming a long way. They are using needle free vaccines now a days

non adjuvated vaccines produce less vaccine reactions and less chance of cancer at vaccination points. ( more popular in cats at the moment...but they're getting more available for dogs)
My vet says that is not unusual. I've seen it on my own dogs after a shot. Don't worry. It will be gone in a day or so.
If you don't think the shot or needle got all the way in the skin then the bump is probably the accumulated medicine that you injected.
It will absorb into the body but may take a few days.
All should be well.
It's going to go down. Likely pulled a hair down in with
the needle. At most it'll turn into an ingrown hair type thing.. How could it not get all the way under the skin? Skin isn't that thick.. I would have the vet do a titer test to make sure that the vaccine actually is building antibodies to the disease, or the whole thing was a waste of time.
This happens to my toy poodles all the time. They have very little body fat so it takes a little longer to absorb.
If your dog's eyes swell or has trouble breathing, it's having a reaction %26 you'll need to get it to an emergency vet for treatment. But it just sounds like it hasn't absorbed the meds %26 should be fine.
This happens quite often. The spot may be a little sore for a little while. The only time you need to worry is if the bump is still there after 36 to 48 hours. This may mean your dog has had an adverse reaction to the shot and you should seek medical attention. Otherwise all should be fine within 24 to 36 hours.
