First off, this dog needs some good training.
Second, she needs good attention.

Do some searching for Clicker Training.

it's been a joy to train my present dog the clicker way.

He learns fast, loves to learn and I think you're dog would love it too.

Look up Clickandtreat.com for starters...

lots of info, easy to understand.

clickers available at most pet stores, or online

good luck!
You need to train her to not to do that.
You need to get this dog a guest shot on animal planet.!
i used to have a wolf-dog named brixia, and one time my mom left her in the car to go eat in a resaurant. this is a pretty big dog im talking about which makes this story pretty weird. my mom left the window cracked about 2 inches and that crazy dog squeezed out of the car and got on the roof without touching the ground! dont worry about your dog, if shes smart enough to open doors she won't get hit by cars.
My daughter has a beagle who escaped numerous of times, including pulling down an awning until she was able to jump on to and then climbing down on the outside of her kennel. Nothing worked until we bought an "invisible fence". The collar is not able to be pulled off, because no chain or cable is attached to it.
Border Collies are very high energy and my only guess for her bad behavior is that she is frustrated because she has no outlet for her energy. She probably should be outside more with more playtime and running. If she was tired at the end of the day instead of having so much saved up energy, she would probably just relax or sleep, instead of ruining so many things.
And yes, getting hit by a car or worse is a big concern because she may flip out completely one day and just break through anything to get outside to run.

I suggest you offer her some more exertion time.
