Any one in the Chicago area???

want to get rid of a dog or know anyone that does. Preferably a puppy.
Answers:
Try petfinder.com . . . . .you can enter in your zip and they will show you shelter and rescue dogs in your area. Many of the rescues and shelters have puppies too.

Edit:
The Chicago Animal Care and Control department has $65 adoption fees for dogs and cats.
There are many local papers in the Chicagoland area, and many people that give away unwanted dogs.

But honestly, I would NOT recommend picking a dog for someone else. There are too many differences in persaon preference of type, size, %26 personality. Your chances of getting the wrong dog for someone else is pretty good. You tare taking the chance of putting that dog into a bad situation where he may end up in multiple homes, unwanted, untrained, and even abused. A dog is not like a flower... and getting one is not something that should be taken lightly.

Good Luck though!
Not ever a good idea.
If I were you I'd discuss this with your uncle first just to be certain he's really wanting a dog and financially as well as physically able to deal with one before going to get it.
You can go on-line and check out the pups listed in the Tradin Post but you'll most likely have to do some traveling to get the pup.-www.TradinPost.com
Once you find the breed you'd like to give him then it'd probably still be a good idea to have him pick the pup himself. Dogs have different personalities just like people do and sometimes dogs and people just don't get along.
